Pyreos has a number of products aimed at the developing field of door control and for accurately and anonymously counting people across door thresholds, for use in retail and security applications.

These products utilise our high responsivity, miniature low cost IR sensor arrays to offer affordable solutions to customers. We can supply sensor array die, packaged arrays, and for use above a standard single entry door space we offer a door counter/ people counter module that can be up and counting in no time at all. These modules can also be networked to form part of an overall security system.

To have affordable accurate solutions for door counting applications it is important to utilise the optimum sensor resolution, and some of our customers have found it surprising how few pixels are needed to achieve high counting accuracy. Using our 4x4 sensor array above a single entry door space, we have been able to achieve accuracy levels similar to those achieved with competitors 16 x 16 and 32 x 32 sensor arrays. Pyreos has recently developed a new 4 x 20 sensor array component aimed at use for counting applications in door spaces of approximately 2 to 3 metres wide, and security “curtain type” applications. First engineering samples are now available for purchase.
