


Christian Wiesinger is the current Chairman of the Board and the Siemens Board non-executive representative. In his role as CFO of the Siemens Technology Accelerator he has helped establish a number of high technology companies across Europe and the US. Pyreos is the third UK based company. Prior to joining the STA he has held a range of roles at Siemens. Christian Wiesinger holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Vienna.
Dr. Wright has been involved with a number of start-up technology companies in the UK prior to founding Pyreos. He previously was co-founder and the 1st employee of MicroEmissive Displays, which he helped lead from start-up to flotation on the London Stock Exchange, collecting numerous entrepreneurial, technology and product awards en route. Dr Wright holds a Bsc in Chemistry from Herriot Watt University and a PhD from Napier University.
Dr. Giebeler is a co-founder, and joined the Company from Siemens STA where he was responsible for identifying and extending the application range of the thin film permanently poled PZT technology and is a named author on a number of the Company’s patent applications. Prior to joining STA Dr. Giebeler has held a number of senior technology positions including Philips Research in the Netherlands. Dr. Giebeler holds a PhD in physics from the University of Sheffield and an MBA from the University of Edinburgh.
Dr Freeborn is a co-founder and joined Pyreos from ITI Techmedia where he successfully managed a £5.2M outsourced new technology development programme. During his previous positions with opto-electronics companies Gemfire Europe and Avanex, Dr. Freeborn successfully managed outsourced production operations, and has been responsible for foundry to foundry technology/process transfer and quality management. Dr. Freeborn holds a PhD in physics in sensor technology from Heriot Watt University.
Murray brings a wealth of experience to the role of part-time CFO, and has a long career in the high tech sector. He was previously Finance Director for Edinburgh Instruments Ltd (1980-1999) and has worked with a number of high growth and VC funded companies including Terahertz Photonics (2000-03).
Dr Binnie is one of the UK’s most renowned academics in the area of infrared sensor arrays and read-out electronics. He has an extensive publication record on infrared technology. He is a senior lecturer at Napier University. He has previously been involved in the development of CMOS visible camera arrays for VLSI Vision (now ST).
Dr. Schäfer is an acknowledged expert in motion detector system design. He has previously designed detector systems for Legrand. Dr. Schäfer holds a PhD in physics from the University of Vienna (Austria).
